Vehicle data transmission, wireless by RFID technology
The automotive supplier Huf Tools is with over 20 % market share one of the world's leading international manufacturers for vehicle locking systems.
Nowadays in most modern car keys there is characteristic data stored on the key (mileage, service intervals etc.). These data can be read out, conveniently located on the consultant table in the workshop. For this Audi needed a smart reader. The focus was on a brand-specific design and the design of the interface.
Together with Huf Tools WERKSDESIGN developed the keyreader. Using RFID technology, the data from the built-in key transponder is automatically transferred to the computer of the Audi consultant by placing them in the Keyreader.
This allows easily to identify the vehicle, collect the most important data immediately and update the stored data. As follow-up project WERKSDESIGN realized a keyreader for Mercedes Benz.
The very successful collaboration between Huftools and WERKSDESIGN
led to a follow-up project for Mercedes Benz.
